CHECKING IN
First, I would like to thank everyone for their messages, texts, emails and posts regarding my birthday last month. I am sorry that I have not been able to respond sooner. It has definitely been one to remember!
As, some of you know, back in February I began having issues with kidney srones. This led to a much bigger problem with my kidneys petty much shutting down and my body retaining massive amounts of fluid. On my birthday I was admitted to the ER with much of this fluid collected around my heart. A procedure called a pericardial window was performed . Thw surgeon removed 13 litres of fluid from around my heart. Also, while under anesthesia I suffered a stroke. I spent 26 days in ICU and was finally released home on May 30 to recover. I am slowly recovering with the help of my devoted partner of almost 15 years, Anthony as well as physical and occupational therapy. I am able to walk again already with the aid of a walker and I am getting stronger every day. In the beginning I was also unable to read, speak (some of you will find that to be a blessing!) or use my left hand, but those are coming back as well everyone expects a full recovery but it takes timeI will still not be on FB as often for awhile, but I will be back, so continue your messages, they’re motivational to me and Anthony helps me go through them when I’m able, so I do get them.
Love to you all!
